And then there’s NATO, Europe’s polite name for dependency.
Eastern Europe is the frontline, not by choice but by design. Every new crisis becomes a test of loyalty. “Defend democracy,” they say, while Western CEOs count defense stock dividends.
Poland, Romania, and the Baltics pour billions into war prep, weapons bought from the same countries that sell “peace conferences.”
Ukraine’s tragedy became their template. Sacrifice the periphery, protect the core.
Eastern Europe bleeds to prove Western Europe’s virtue.
The Cultural Colonization
If economic subjugation wasn’t enough, there’s the cultural leash.
The West preaches tolerance, green revolutions, and woke capitalism, and demands the East clap in rhythm.
But try asking for better wages or a fairer seat at the EU table, and suddenly you’re “populist,” “illiberal,” “un-European.”
The message is clear: copy the ideology, but never question the hierarchy.
Every year, Brussels funds media projects to “combat misinformation.” Translation: teach the East to love its masters.
Meanwhile, French farmers burn EU flags over trade deals, and German lobbyists rewrite climate policy, but that’s not “radical.” That’s “democracy.”
The Empire Reborn
The West lectures about equality while rebuilding the empire with a smile. Only the methods changed, no tanks, just treaties; no colonies, just dependencies.
And the East? Still obedient, still grateful for scraps. The empire doesn’t need chains anymore. Debt, propaganda, and false pride do the job perfectly.
The tragedy is not that Eastern Europe was conquered.
It’s that it was convinced it had joined the winners.
